The End

The End…

This update is a tough one…

We had been traveling longer than expected by a couple of years and really needed to get back home. We had been planning to sell for a while but it was still tough to let go. While in Vietnam, we received and accepted an offer on Dea Latis. Once we returned to Australia things moved really quickly. We cleaned up the boat, packed our few remaining items and once the funds transferred we…left. We bought plane tickets two days earlier, grabbed our luggage, went to the bus stop and flew home, just like that. It was over.

We cleaned her up well. I think she was in the best shape she had been in since the refit several year ago.

All locked up…

And that was the last we saw of her. That was a tough ride to shore.

We owned her for 12 years and she sold in 12 days….

Bags at the bus stop:

Qantas has free wine in coach which was a huge help. It was a 16 hour flight to Dallas and another 3 to Orlando.

That was tough letting go. I hope the new owners take good care of her. Someday we will post some stats from our travels but right now our log book and the bulk of our belongings are still in Australia waiting to be shipped home. We had an amazing adventure and will post a summary sometime in the near future. Thank you to everyone for all your help, especially Tanya’s Father!

It was hard to see Dea Latis get sold but all good things come to an end and she certainly was a good thing. A lot of work went into getting her ready and I hope that the new owner appreciates all that was done to make her such a beautiful craft. Bon Voyage !!!
