We’re Finally Heading South!

Posted by on September 23, 2012

We are finally heading south! We were fortunate to have our families there for the send off! Thanks, we love you!

We set off promptly at 7:00AM, headed down the Sheepscot River across Casco Bay and anchored off of Richmond Island by Cape Elizabeth. The seas were huge, confused and very uncomfortable but we made it. We anchored in a beautiful place, cleaned up a bit, cooked dinner (chili and cornbread) and now we are watching the Emmys!

We’re beat and we are heading for Gloucester in the AM. I doubt I will make it through the Emmys.

We got up early and it was a bit chilly this morning, really appreciated the coffee!

Did I mention it was cold on the water?

We made a big breakfast underway. It was delicious but…never going to do that again in heavy seas:

We did get to sail a bit:

Cape Elizabeth:

Richmond Island.(Click on the map tab at the top of the page to see where we are):

Cruise ship (little dot) on the horizon just under the solar panels:

Dinner, mmmm!

Heading to Gloucester first thing in the morning. We’ll update again when we get wifi.
