Refrigeration

Posted by on July 9, 2011

Another project of ours is to upgrade the refrigeration. We have a ten cubic foot ice box that we are going to divide into two sections, one freezer and the other will be a fridge. First we will add insulation and then we will install a new refrigeration system. The box is odd shaped to better fit into the boat so we have to measure and cut the insulation and interior pieces. Once everything is cut and properly fit into place, we will remove it all and glue in the pieces one by one. Once the insulation and liner are in place we will add a divider and the new system. It will take some time.

Ice box opening in the counter top. We’re going to open this up and make two doors. For now we have to reach down into this hole and take the measurements:

Once we take the measurements we draw it out on the insulation:

Then cut out the pieces:

Most of the pieces will have to be cut up even smaller to fit through the opening, something like a puzzle:

Great job!

We’re heading South on Monday to pick up the house batteries and meet the engine dealer. We will update more in a few days!
