Minor Construction

We have been building supports for the batteries and generator, cleaning up a bit and painting. The boat never had a generator and the batteries are much larger so everything has to be custom built to fit. Whenever we have a chance we are cleaning up the compartments, priming and painting.

The new battery support. I will fiberglass the box and cover the rest with epoxy resin, then glass it into the hull and paint the whole thing:

We had to demolish this battery box, didn’t need it and the wood underneath was rotten. I glassed in the base with fiberglass cloth and West System epoxy to add strength and keep out any moisture:

After the epoxy set, it got a strip of fiberglass tape to help bond to the hull:

One by one we will clean, prime and paint the compartments white. Fresh primer:
