Getting to Florida

Posted by on December 2, 2012

We had a pretty decent ride from South Carolina to Florida. The weather was nice, warmer temps but light winds so we ended up motoring quite a bit. We are at Fernandina Harbor Marina for a couple of days. We are relaxing, doing laundry, and checking out the town which so far is really nice! Here are a few shots of the trip…

Charleston had a pretty busy commercial port. A few ships arriving as we were leaving:

Sunset out on the ocean:

We were visited again in the middle of the night by a pod of dolphins. They played around the boat for about half an hour. I could not get any good pictures when I tried, so I just held up the camera, aimed at the water and pushed the button. Well, I managed to get a few decent pictures out of the many I took.

There are two just under the water:

Two more:

I love this one, launching out of the water:

One more:

Shrimp boat just off of GA/FL coast:

Fort Clinch, entering the inlet into Fernandina Florida http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Clinch :

We ate out last night at a nice Mexican restaurant. The food, margaritas, and company were excellent!

Going to check out the rest of the town!
