Charleston SC

Posted by on November 29, 2012

We walked around the downtown area yesterday and had a great time. Charleston is a beautiful city with so much history and character. We snapped some pictures along the way but I am terrible with a camera so they’re not great. If you’re ever in Charleston, walk or take a carriage and tour the city. East Bay St (failed to take any pictures) was fantastic with lots of shops and restaurants from casual to fine, very old buildings, lots to see. The Battery area overlooking the water was beautiful as well. Around every corner “wow look at that”…

US Custom House. We haven’t seen the news in a couple of days, not sure who passed away. Flags all over the city were at half staff:

I was mesmerized on East Bay St and forgot to take pictures but this is Broad St, off of East Bay, also very nice. More galleries and trendy shops on this street, also city hall, churches etc:

Church on Broad St:

Nice park with statue of George Washington:

Cobblestone streets:

House downtown:

Backyard garden:

I poked the camera through the fence, another backyard:

The house below (side view) looks out over Charleston Harbor and is for sale, $9 million.

Front:

Another one for sale, not sure how much:

Anchorage in Ashley River:

There is a better than 50% chance we are leaving for Florida early tomorrow. We will check the weather again tonight but it looks like north east and east winds with temps in the 70s for the next few days. It’s time to jump outside again and head south.
