Staying Put

Posted by on September 25, 2012

We tried to leave this morning but wind and wave would not permit. We bashed into heavy seas and 20 knot head winds for a while before we decided to turn around and head back. So we are anchored again by Richmond Island until Thursday morning, at least that’s what our plan is based on the weather forecast. The winds are forecast to be out of the north Thursday so we should be able to rocket down the coast to either Isle of Shoals or  maybe Gloucester.

So we found tons of mussels and had a great dinner last night:

Once the anchor was down today we ate breakfast and relaxed for a bit:

Then we packed a snack, took the dinghy in and walked the island. This is a really beautiful island with several beaches all very different from one another.

Broad Cove:

Walking the paths across the island:

Clam Cove:

Crime Scene?

We’re going to hang out here until Thursday, hide from the weather and stay warm.
